Pink Deer in Winter, Original Pop Surrealism Oil Painting
This adorable little pink deer was hand painted in oil and varnished for vivid colors and clear protection. It is made up completely from imagination without references but is inspired by vintage and retro “kitschmas” decor.
She prances through a snowy winter landscape, boldly standing out in her pink coat from the white snow. Around her neck is a red collar with a little bell to announce her arrival. The painting is framed in this ornate, vintage filigree styled frame as shown, and measures 5” x 7” total.
She would make the perfect addition to your holiday decor, especially those decor color palettes including pastels like Kawaii or kitchmas aesthetics.
Shipping is included.
Artist Statement:
Most recently, Olivia has been exploring popular narratives and their symbols in portraits, inspired by the Pop Surrealism movement. Bible stories, fairy tales, and contemporary movies and books are all sources of inspiration for her art. Though religion can be a source of irony in lowbrow and pop surrealism, Olivia aims to explore a genuine faith in the childlike faces of the style. Rather than humor, her style focuses on a combination of child-like qualities (vulnerability, dependency, innocence) with greater issues of maturity (identity, love, faith, and existentialism).
