Fortune Teller, Original Framed Painting
“Fortune Teller” is a reflection on today’s “New Age” or how people seem very into the occult, tarot readings, and being called a witch or a medium. I remember those being bad things before, but they seem to be more and more acceptable. I don’t mean to completely demonize them or say it’s false, but I do know that God tells us to stay away from such things (Lev. 19:31). In a bigger picture, I think that the issue is really when we don’t trust God for such things. Only He knows our future, our heart of hearts, and what our path in life will be. He wants us to trust in Him alone:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6
The fortune teller in my painting is using a crystal ball/gumball machine/prize vending machine to tell the future. It doesn’t make much sense and is cheap and fake in the long run.
This is an 8” x 10” oil painting on gessoed paper and varnished with a glossy finish. Including the frame, the dimensions are 14.5” x 16.5.” It is shipped by the artist with a certificate of authenticity, shipping is included in the price.
